Our MPs are terrible, they don’t deserve more.

The aim of raising the salary is to increase the quality of future MPs, not to reward current MPs. We believe that, as with all recruitment, the quality of the people you recruit is linked to the amount you pay them.

But won’t this turn politics into an "old rich boys club"?

The low salaries are what encourages it to be an old rich boys club.  Only those with personal income, or low achievers, can afford to become an MP. We believe that increasing the salary will make politics more democratic and will give access to parliament to high achievers from all walks of life.
